PHILOSOPHY AND OBJECTIVES

The Ph.D. Programme in Educational Management is designed to train M.Ed/M. Tech.(Ed) graduates to acquire further advanced skills/knowledge in educational management. It is aimed at producing professionals who are competent in problem identification and solution in education.

SCOPE OF PROGRAMME
Ph.D. in educational management is by research (Thesis). Candidate will be expected to research into a particular problem area in educational management and to comeout with recommendations for solving such problems.

COURSE DURATION
Full time students are to spend a minimum of 24 months. Part time students are to spend a minimum of 36 months.

MODE OF STUDY
Ph.D. in Educational Management will involve a comprehensive research work that will be presented as a thesis. However, candidates who have some deficiencies in education would be expected to audit some courses to make up for such deficiencies.

SEMINAR AND THESIS
These are essential components of the Ph.D. Programme. Candidates through these Media would be expected to demonstrate mastery of their area of specialisation and show evidence of original contribution to knowledge.

ENTRY / GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
As specified in the Federal University of Technology, Yola Post-Graduate Study Brochure. Applicants must be holders of an M.Ed/M. Tech. (Ed.) degree in Education from the Federal University of Technology, Yola, or from any other recongnised Universities.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

In order to quality for the award of Ph.D degree canadidate must fulfill the following requirements.
1 Pass written examinationas on course works where prescribed.
2 Defend Ph.D proposal before embarking on Ph.D research
3 Carry out publishable Ph.D research works.
4 Present Ph.D seminar on the works carried out.
5 Defend Ph.D Thesis before a panel of examiners as provided in PG guidelines
