PHILOSOPHY AND OBJECTIVES

Urban and Regional Planning all over the world seek after the good of society. This is pursued physically (infrastructural), socially, economically, politically, culturally and        psychologically. The fact that every society has this same aspiration suggests that as long as the quest for a sustainable good society exists, planners will always be needed. Statistics of existing planners to stand in this gap in the various levels of government and communities in Nigeria suggest the need for training more planers in our institutions.

The philosophy of Urban and Regional Planning Programme of the Federal University of Technology, Yola is geared towards professional practice, teaching and research. As earlier stated, the programme considers planning as a means through which we can bring about a harmonious relationship between man, the built environment and nature.
