FUTY GETS NEW VICE CHANCELLOR

Professor B.H. Usman has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the Federal University0 of Technology, Yola (FUTY). Until his appointment, Professor B.H. Usman was the past Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) and Acting Vice Chancellor, FUTY.

He has a B.Sc. in Agriculture (Soil Science) with a second class honours, upper division degree, from the University of Maiduguri. M.Sc. in Soil Chemistry, University of Reading, England, U.K. and Ph.D in Soil Fertility and Fertilizer Management from the University of London, Wye College, England, U.K.

He now becomes the 6th Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola.     More>>

Works and Maintenance Unit

Functions

The functions of the Department include:

(i) The maintenance of the physical structures of the University and in providing engineering services be it civil, electrical or mechanical.

(ii) The maintenance of University transport services, water supply, electrical power supply (from PHCN or standby generators), Telecommunications and satellite services.

(iii) It advises the Vice-Chancellor, the Physical Planning Unit and other Departments on maintenance implications of new designs and structure.

(iv) The Department in conjunction with the Security Unit, is also responsible for the general function of safety in University buildings.
