FUTY GETS NEW VICE CHANCELLOR

Professor B.H. Usman has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the Federal University0 of Technology, Yola (FUTY). Until his appointment, Professor B.H. Usman was the past Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) and Acting Vice Chancellor, FUTY.

He has a B.Sc. in Agriculture (Soil Science) with a second class honours, upper division degree, from the University of Maiduguri. M.Sc. in Soil Chemistry, University of Reading, England, U.K. and Ph.D in Soil Fertility and Fertilizer Management from the University of London, Wye College, England, U.K.

He now becomes the 6th Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola.     More>>

OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR

The law establishing the University provides that the Registrar shall be the Chief Administrator of the University and shall by virtue of the office be the secretary to the Council, the Senate, Congregation and Convocation.  He is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the University.

By virtue of the office, he serves as the custodian of University records and policies. The following units, each headed by a Deputy Registrar, come under the Registrar i.e. Council and General Office, Academic and Establishment Units.

  1.            Council and General Office

This constitutes the Council secretariat and this Unit handles all matters relating to Council and implementation of decisions.

  2.             Academic Unit

This unit handles all matters that come under the jurisdiction of Senate.  For ease of administration, the Unit handles Senate matters, admissions, examinations and records. 

  3.            Establishment Unit

This Unit deals with staff matters, e.g. appointments, promotions, disengagement, leaves, discipline, training, housing and pensions.
