FUTY GETS NEW VICE CHANCELLOR

Professor B.H. Usman has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the Federal University0 of Technology, Yola (FUTY). Until his appointment, Professor B.H. Usman was the past Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) and Acting Vice Chancellor, FUTY.

He has a B.Sc. in Agriculture (Soil Science) with a second class honours, upper division degree, from the University of Maiduguri. M.Sc. in Soil Chemistry, University of Reading, England, U.K. and Ph.D in Soil Fertility and Fertilizer Management from the University of London, Wye College, England, U.K.

He now becomes the 6th Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola.     More>>

PHYSICAL PLANNING UNIT

Functions

The Physical Planning Unit is an establishment employing highly qualified professionals in the fields of Engineering, Architecture, Surveying and Planning.

The duties of the Physical Planning unit include:
(i) Development of a master plan for the physical development of the University;
(ii) Design, and supervision of implementation of all physical development projects;
(iii) Preparation and analysis of Tender documents;
(iv) Coordination of physical development to ensure equity;
(v) Liaison with the National Universities Commission on and the Education Tax Fund on behalf of the University in respect of capital funds allocation and utilization;
(vi) Periodic advice to the Department of Works and Maintenance on issues of major maintenance and rehabilitation.
