Objectives
Philosophy of the School
The
Nigerians education philosophy is predicated on a sound, effective and
equal educational opportunities for all citizens and the nation at the
secondary school level among others.
Therefore, the quality of teaching at the University secondary
school is oriented towards inculcating the following values, among other
things.
i.
Promotion of the emotional physical and psychological health of all children.
ii.
Respect for the dignity of labour;
iii.
Moral and spiritual values and interpersonal relationships; and
iv. Respect for the worth and dignity of the
individual.
The
philosophy of the University secondary school is therefore, directed
towards youth
self-realisation, individual and national efficiency, effective citizenship, national
unity and national consciousness. It
is also geared towards the socio-economic,
cultural, scientific and technological advancement of the individual and
state. It is also to provide
an up to date post primary education programme that
will meet the challenges of the changing needs of our society. By merging the
individual’s interest and abilities with the dynamic changes in our
society, the student
should receive an education that will provide him knowledge, skills
and attitudes
for further studies or appropriate employment.

The Objective of the School
(i) To improve the quality of education in
Adamawa State
(ii) To improve accessibility of secondary education to university
staff children
and university environs.
(iii)
To continue to provide increasing number of primary school
graduates with the
opportunity for quality education.
(iv) As an ultimate goal it is to accomplish the objective of secondary education
as enshrined in the current national policy on education.
