FUTY GETS NEW VICE CHANCELLOR

Professor B.H. Usman has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the Federal University0 of Technology, Yola (FUTY). Until his appointment, Professor B.H. Usman was the past Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) and Acting Vice Chancellor, FUTY.

He has a B.Sc. in Agriculture (Soil Science) with a second class honours, upper division degree, from the University of Maiduguri. M.Sc. in Soil Chemistry, University of Reading, England, U.K. and Ph.D in Soil Fertility and Fertilizer Management from the University of London, Wye College, England, U.K.

He now becomes the 6th Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola.     More>>

UNIVERSITY  LODGES

Functions

The functions of the University Lodges (a  Unit under the Vice Chancellor’s Office) is as follows:

(i) Hosting of guests, such guests include the Chairman of the Governing Council, the Council Members and other guests to the University on official duties.  Requests also come from the state Government for their guests on official visits, such guests include Governors, Ministers, head of parastatals, private organizations etc.  All requests to use the Lodges is approved by the Vice Chancellor.

(ii)        The Unit is also responsible for the preparation and hosting of all parties.

(a)        Preparation and serving of Council Lunch.
(b)        Preparation and serving of refreshment at Council meetings and any Committee meetings approved by the Council.
(c)    Cooking of meals for the guests that are lodged in the lodge.                       
(d)        Washing of guest clothes and the bedding.
(e)        Maintenance and general cleanliness of the lodges.
(f)         Planting and watering of flowers.

(iii)       The Chief Catering Officer is in-charge of the supervision and running of the day to day activities of the Unit.
