STUDENT AFFAIRS
DIVISION
There is lots
of support and information
available to students across the
university. The Student
Centre is at the heart
of the university community. It
contains the Student Affairs
Division who's job it is to
provide practical help and
guidance to all students –
especially the questions and
queries you might have on first
joining the University. The
Students’ Union is also a
valuable source of information
for new students which also
resides in the Students Centre.
New students
can find out more about a range
of services including:
Accommodation and Living in
Yola; Financial Support and
Information; Disability
Services; Careers; Chaplaincy;
Counselling Service; Sports
Services; or opportunities such
as becoming a Student Ambassador
or Volunteering.
Both the
Student Affairs Division and the
Union are easily located – both
are resident at the Students
Centre.
Many new
students familiarise themselves
with the Student Centre and the
Student Affairs Division and its
opening times in the first few
days after joining the
University. The SAD is open late
during the first three weeks of
the new academic year. All
Freshers’ are treated to an
Orientation of the University
and city as well with visits to
tourist and centres of
importance including the city
market and the royal palace of
the traditional ruler of the
town (Lamido of Adamawa).
