FUTY GETS NEW VICE CHANCELLOR Professor B.H. Usman has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the Federal University0 of Technology, Yola (FUTY). Until his appointment, Professor B.H. Usman was the past Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) and Acting Vice Chancellor, FUTY. He has a B.Sc. in Agriculture (Soil Science) with a second class honours, upper division degree, from the University of Maiduguri. M.Sc. in Soil Chemistry, University of Reading, England, U.K. and Ph.D in Soil Fertility and Fertilizer Management from the University of London, Wye College, England, U.K. He now becomes the 6th Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola. Our curriculum are highly flexible and integrates the latest developments in theory and practice. Although it is one of the five largest Federal University of Technologies in Nigeria, FUTY is made up of smaller academic communities known as Schools. In fact, 70 percent of our classes have fewer than 30 students, and our student-to-department ratio is 16:1. The University has six schools, which run Undergraduate Programs and one school of Postgraduate Programs. The Consultancy Service Unit runs various Certificate and Diploma courses in addition to its consultancy services. The Undergraduate Program provides students with the analytical skills and knowledge necessary to solve managerial and technical problems in today's technologically advanced world. FUTY two-year Masters Program is designed to educate innovative managers and scientists for the new century. The PhD Program focuses on training outstanding scholars whose teaching and research will advance education and practice. FUTY offers major and minor concentrations in more than 250 academic and professional fields of study. The Remedial Studies and FUTY Consultancy Unit form the foundation of the educational experience here while the Schools also advance professional training and applied learning.
