Brief History
The
Council of the Federal University of Technology,
Yola at its 6th
meeting held on
Tuesday 30th
October, 1990, approved the setting
up of a Consultancy Firm, to be known as the
Federal University of Technology, Yola
Consultancy Services Unit under the control of
Consultancy Services Management Board. The decision is in line with the Federal
Military Government’s directive to Universities
to provide complementary funding to their
statutory allocations.
The Federal University of Technology, Yola
Consultancy Services (FUTYCONSULT) started in
1991 as a multi-disciplinary consulting firm
that provides qualitative and professional
services to the three tiers of government
(Local, State and Federal).
Parastatals, private agencies and the private
sector. It aslo provides training from
certificates to diploma in various disciplines.
Functions
FUTYCONSULT was established to generate revenue for the university
through the pursuance of the following objectives.
(i)
To provide the much needed technical, professional and expert
advise to all tiers of government, (Local, State and Federal)
parastatals, private agencies, the private sector and international
organizations.
(ii)
To prepare feasibility reports on proposed projects for
clients, and provide supportive professional services when and if
required.
(iii)
To develop comprehensive training and development programmes,
seminars and workshops for senior and junior executives in both private
and public establishment.
(iv)
To make suggestions for the optimal investment of part of the
funds generated.
