About
The
establishment of CEMIT was conceived in 1992 when the Federal Government
directed that all Federal Universities of Technology should upgrade
their existing workshops, maintenance Units and facilities to the status
of work centres. Thus a central workshop was established.
In 1999, however when the then Vice Chancellor, Prof. Salihu Mustafa
took over the leadership of the University, the Central Workshop was upgraded
to the Centre for Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Training (CEMIT).
